Our school
Our school is a friendly school with excellent teachers who make you learn the subjects in an amusing way using games, group work, quizzes and constests. It's our IDEAL SCHOOL!
It is a middle school (grades 6 to 9) belonging to I.C. Pontormo which also includes three primary schools (located in Carmignano, Seano and Comeana) and four pre-schools (Bacchereto, S. Cristina a Mezzana, Poggio alla Malva and Seano). The name of our school comes from the famous painter Jacopo da Pontorme, known as Pontormo, who lived in the first half of the sixteenth century. If you are asking yourself why, well that’s because the church of Carmignano (S. Michele) contains one of the most beautiful and famous paintings of Pontormo, “Visitazione”.
We have a really beautiful music room with lots of instruments, a big gym and we have an art lab and a small science lab too. There are 18 classes in our school (from A to F) and almost every class (except for ours!) has an Interactive Whiteboard. There are about 14 tablets which can be booked for us by our teachers and one computer per class.
One of the most beautiful thing about our school is the landscape: from our classroom we can see olive groves, vineyards and, in the distance, the Medici Villa in Artimino and even the dome of Florence cathedral.
